9th Annual High Tea,
Saturday, April 19th
Two Seatings: 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM
Featured speaker, singer, and composer Heather Rowell
What is the High Tea?:
It is an outreach event that Women’s Ministry sponsors. It is an opportunity to invite friends from outside of Heritage to attend. Consider your child’s teacher, your hair stylist, your child’s piano instructor, a neighbor or a friend! It is 2 hours of beautiful music, delicious food, inspirational speaker, and the fellowship hall is transformed into a tea room, where each table has it’s own theme, and décor. It is a wonderful time to just enjoy the pretty dishes and creativity of our hostesses, and great conversation.
What is a hostess?:
A hostess decorates one round table to seat 8. We have our own white linen table cloths used only for this tea. The hostess brings her own dishes and table settings to create a beautiful table. China and crystal are often used, but other delightfully different table wear is an option. The hostess can reserve the table to invite her own friends, or her table can be open for ticket sales. If you have 6 friends you want to invite, we encourage you to be a hostess. We need hostesses at the 10:30 and the 2:30 seating. The hostess does not have to buy a ticket, her seat is complimentary. We have many ladies who want to attend and need lots of hostesses. PLEASE NOTE: due to a Memorial Service on Friday, April 18th, morning hostesses may come and set up between 7:30 – 9:30 PM on Friday night. Questions? Contact Penny Howard at: 796-1329, ext. 37.
How is the food served?:
Each table has a variety of finger sandwiches, cookies, scones and fruit. The morning seating and afternoon seating will be the same in program, but different foods may be served.
What if I want to help, but don’t want to hostess?:
You can be an assistant, and help a hostess by helping with the food distribution prior, help in the kitchen with filling teapots with hot water, or you can help prepare ahead: cookies, finger sandwiches, chocolate dipped strawberries, mini muffins, mini quiche or fruit skewers to donate to the tea. If you would like to sit at a table after helping, we ask that you purchase a ticket to help with this fundraiser.
Buy your tickets in the Fellowship Hall between services. Cost: $13 each. You can also purchase tickets during the week in the Adult Ministry office.
To find out more information or to help as a hostess, or with food preparation, contact the Adult Ministry office.
