The Compass Outreach Center

David Landers, Senior Pastor at Heritage United Methodist Church at Countryside stated, "We believe that God calls us to serve others and try to meet the needs of those around us. As a church family we are striving to be more effective in serving our community and believe The Compass will be a wonderful connecting point. We feel we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of the rebuilding of Safety Harbor. We hope The Compass will provide needed facilities and resources for the community in a Christian setting."

Finding a job God's Way

Monday evenings 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A 8 week recurring workshop series covering every aspect of your job search.

  • Find and achieve your career dreams
  • Learn the secrets of networking
  • Learn to build a Roadmap for a Successful Career
  • Learn how to "stretch your dollars"
  • Build a powerful resume with focus
  • Learn about etiquette in negotiating

This is an ongoing workshop series and you can join at any time. All are welcome; currently employed, un-employed, under-employed or unhappily-employed. We will cover a number of topics concerning job fulfillment and where God might want us to be as well as everything from networking to resume writing to interviewing and putting a job search plan together.   • Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
    BIBLE STUDY FOR WOMEN: “A Grace Disguised” by Jerry Sittser. Suffering a greater loss than most of us will ever understand (the deaths of his mother, wife and daughter in an automobile accident), Jerry Sittser relays his grief experience and the grace he found within it. His book is a very human journey that speaks clearly to anyone who has suffered loss - death, divorce, illness, whatever. A Grace Disguised bears witness to the grace and hope that God pours out even in our darkest hours, and it is a rich resource to share with others who grieve. Facilitated by Shirley Westrate.

  • Ladies Movie Night: 1st Saturday of every month at 7:00 p.m.  Bring a snack or soda to share.

  • Alzheimer's Family Support: 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.  First meeting will be Tuesday, September 18th.

YOUNG AT HEART FOR ADULTS

Every Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Coffee and Fellowship, Bible Study, lunch and socializing.  A great day for our Seniors as well as other adults who may want to join us.

Recovery and Support Programs

  • AA Closed Men's Group: Every Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
  • AA Open Mixed Group: Every Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
  • AlAnon: Every Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m.

Saturday Sidelines:  Come join us for "Buc" football in HDTV on our 2 big screen TVs.  Bring a snack and drinks (soda, etc.) to share.  Still in the planning stages.  We will be showing selected games.

Compass Closet (Thrift shop)

The Clothes Closet is open on Thursdays from 10 am till 2:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am until noon.

Here is how YOU can help….

Volunteer - your time at the Clothes Closet to Sort, Hang or Fold, and Tag clothing items, or as Sales help, Volunteer - your time from home by making phone calls and scheduling.

Donate - your unused CURRENT SEASON clothing. Donations may be taken to the Clothes Closet during the operating hours above OR call Lisa McNamee to arrange a pick up.
