THE PURPOSE OF CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is an age-appropriate and systematic overview of the Christian faith,
including our identity, Scripture, history and heritage, practices, beliefs, and
commitments as United Methodist Christians.Confirmation preparation at Heritage
UMC consists of Sunday morning classes and a special Saturday session. All 8th
grade and older students who have not been confirmed are invited to attend.

 

CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes will be taught by Heritage Staff from 9:45 –10:45am in Lighthouse Room
D215, on the following six Sundays:

February 12 & 19

March 4 & 11

April 1 & 15

Students are required to attend five of the six Sunday classes listed above and the
Confirmation Saturday Session from 9:00am-Noon on April 21st.
There will also be a required parent meeting and rehearsal in the Sanctuary on
Saturday, April 21st from 9:00am-10:00am.

 

CELEBRATIONS
Students will have the option of a sunset Baptism at Clearwater Beach on Saturday,
April 14th at 6:30pm or being baptized in the Church service on Confirmation Sunday.
Upon completing the course, students will participate in a Confirmation Ceremony in
the 9:45am Church service on Sunday, April 22, 2012.   At this ceremony, new
Confirmands will receive a Confirmation Bible and certificate.

  • Submission deadline is Sunday, Jan 22, 2012.
  • Cost is $15.00/student.

JUST FOR PARENTS
Parents are encouraged to attend the following:

Parent Info Brunch on Saturday, January 28th  from
  9:00am-11:30am in the Lighthouse Auditorium.

Parent Coffee Hour on Sunday, March 11th from
8:30am-9:30am in the Lighthouse Auditorium.

**Parent Meeting on Saturday, April 21st from
9:00am-10:00am in the Sanctuary.
