Our Senior Pastor, David Landers, spent the first eighteen years of his life on a farm in Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Asbury College and his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Pastor David served four churches in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church prior to becoming Pastor at Heritage in November of 1988.

David is married to Patricia, a Language Arts Teacher at Safety Harbor Middle School. "We were part of what Asbury College's Dean of Men referred to as products of the Asbury shoe factory. He said that students came in as heels, had their souls repaired, and were sent out as pairs."

The Landers have two sons. Jason, their older son, and his wife Lisa live in Ellenton, FL, and Nathan their younger son works and resides in local Clearwater area.
