Steve was born and raised in Northern Indiana, a native "Hoosier." (Steve's definition of a Hoosier: a Kentuckian who got lost on the way to Michigan.)
For the next six years after graduating from seminary, Pastor Steve served two churches in the North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church: a large congregation in South Bend and a church plant south of Ft. Wayne. He transferred to the Florida Conference and to Heritage UMC on May 1, 2003.
Steve is married to Karen, who also graduated from Purdue University and Asbury Theological Seminary. She is a family therapist by training and stay-at-home mom by vocation.
